Salam!

Hi there every one , i am sorry i was not able to enjoy you precious company for a while...... and now when i am tired of searching internet cluelessly i came back...

I am facing a weird problem regarding internet in Windows Vista x64 Ultimate.
Now the observations that i made are the internet seem to connected in "Network and Sharing Centre" and every gadget from windows like the weather gadget and RSS Feed Reader are working very well, even the windows updates is working fine.....

But every program that i open which uses internet is unable to do so.... not explorer , not any game or any other utility that i am using is able to connect to internet.... i am not able to reach my router also ....

Now i am typing this post from other operating system that i am using (MAC10.5.5) and its working pretty well....

I am using 1MBS connection from PTCL and i have ZTE -ZXDSL 831 Series router......

Can some one tell me what is wrong with my sweet little windows and how can i solve it.....

Thanks in advance........................................... .....

thanks for the advise brother but i have tried all browsers , there is one exception thought , that if i use 64 bit version of Internet Explorer than i am able to use internet normally (including that flashplayer is not available for 64bit browsers so far).... also when i close any exe (suppose firefox.exe) windows pops up a message stating that firefox.exe has stopped working do you want to close it or find solution on internet......

i will appreciate any help i can get as i am tired of reinstalling windows...

I got it........

well i searched internet a lot and found that it seem to problem with winsock , and this article completely solved my problem.

TCP/IP stack Winsock settings in Windows Vista may get corrupted, causing errors and problems with Internet connectivity. Corrupt Winsock or Windows sockets configuration can be due to a lot of reasons such as installation of a networking software, or due to virus, trojan or malware infection, or sometime even due to disinfection of spyware by security software.

When Winsock corrupts, the networking errors that you may face include unable to surf the Internet with “Page cannot be displayed” error message in Internet Explorer or AOL even though the DSL/ADSL/cable Internet connection is connected. Sometimes, Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) service is terminated as well.

To repair and reset the Windows Vista

Click on Start button.
Type Cmd in the Start Search text box.
Press Ctrl-Shift-Enter keyboard shortcut to run Command Prompt as Administrator. Allow elevation request.
Type netsh winsock reset in the Command Prompt shell, and then press the Enter key.
Restart the computer.
What netsh winsock reset command does are it resets Winsock Catalog to a clean state or default configuration. It removes all Winsock LSP (Layered Service Providers) previously installed, including the potential malfunctioned LSP that causes loss of network packets transmission failure. So all previously-installed LSPs must be reinstalled. This command does not affect Winsock Name Space Provider entries.

Note: To check which LSPs installed on your Vista system, use netsh winsock show catalog command

here is the link to article Repair and Reset Windows Vista TCP/IP Winsock Catalog Corruption My Digital Life

Enjoy if you have the same problem.......

superfrog is an unknown quantity at this point
I was thinking may be the Windows Firewall could be the culprit but anyways glad to hear that a netsh winsock reset resolves the issue.
