Ur using Built-in CARD?
Thats is from ATI haan? then VISTA should have activated Aero by default as it does for my built-in Geforce 6150. Yeah it is in Display properties as far as I can remeber.. besure VISTA has installed driver for ur card or download VGA driver from ATI website for Win VISTA. |

yeah I m using xfx 8600GT xxx edition ,(time to update my signature) and so far my expiereince with Vista is not very good mainly because of my 512mb RAM. bas yaar kahin se 1gb aur add karloon .hopefully next month Inshallah.
I have tried the DX10 demo of Lost planet and I didnt notice too many difference than the DX9 one lighting and texture are good but not any other noteworthy feature I found yet. Did any one of you find any difference? |

New user interface/themes/visuals are eye candy... CPU and HDD performance has been increased when compared to XP SP2. Programs install and open a bit quicker than in XP. But the main thing that really needs to be fixed asap is VGA performance in games. I ran few games on both XP an Vista with Aero Enabled/Disabled and here is what I found.
On average there is a 5-10fps drop when playing DX9 games on Vista than on XP. Games include CNC3/Test Drive Unlimited/ Lost Planet EC Demo. However there is one exception and that is X3 Reunion. X3 Reunion is not that much heavy on VGA Cards but it really requires more CPU performance. I noticed a 3-5 fps increase on Vista. I also tried disabling that Aero interface to see if there is any increase in performance on Vista but nope that does not help. Somehow DX9.0L API is limiting or bogging down VGA cards on Vista. Application compatibility with most of programs is Okay on 32Bit Vista. UAC User Account Control can become a PIA (pain in @$$ not Pakistan International Airlines ) when installing/running most programs. My System Specifications. Athlon 64 3000+ @ 2.25GHZ 2GB DDR 400MHZ ATI X1950 pro 256MB DDR3 WD Caviar SE 160GB SATAII Best Regards Muhammad Ali Zubair

yaar try to set ADJUST FOR BEST PERFORMANCE before playing the games ,personally I didnt notice any poor FPS now (played BF2142 on med-high and getting 40+fps easily ,played lost planet on med-high and getting 30 fps which a bit of concerned played BLIC 07 and I m surprised to say that is the worst performance I get on VISTA too much slow loading possibly beacause of my RAM but FPS is decent enuf).
