Good news for PTCL DSL users

PTCL has revised the rates.

They've doubled the cap for 256K package from 2 to 4 gb and unlimited downloads from 1-8 am.

Finally, we are moving towards an uncapped future.

How is PTCL's DSL service? I've been using MAX DSL for the past 8 months and I am quite satisfied with their consistency of service but this 128K connection is becoming a pain when it comes to watching stuff online. This package of DSL by PTCL will afford me about the same amount of downloaded stuff i.e. around 20GB a month and at the same time allowing me a faster/smoother browsing experience.

Is it wise to switch to PTCL's DSL?


P.S. How much does their download speed fluctuate? Because even though I get 13KB/sec on a 128K connection, it's pretty constant!

Its pretty good, atleast in Peshawar, can't say about other cities. it has it downtimes but they are few.

I say go for it, 128k is too low.

Yes I do. I have the 256K one. Get around 25-30KBps and I am satisfied with it.

Why they are not reducing the rates. For the past 2-3 years, the minimum connection you are getting is for Rs 1000. Whenver Govt. give the DSL providers any subsidy, they simply increase the cap by 1 GB with no reduction in cost.
