Need Help: Remote Desktop
Rating:

Ok now connecting remotely to another PC over the internet isnt that much of a problem if the PC at the other end has a public IP....which i have successfully done in the past.
Now i want to connect to a PC over the internet, which is on a local network and does not have a public IP (it has 192.168.1.xxx). What are my chances, and is there any solution to this??

Does that local network have a server who has public IP? If yes then you might need to forward a port and create a custom rule in NAT&PAT explicitly and exclusively for that private PC on lan. So that when a request of Remote Login from your public IP PC will come to the server of that LAN it will only forward that request to the intended private IP PC.

but the thing is that the guy at the other end does not have access to the main server/router. whatever is to be done can be done at the end PC only. so if the exclude the possibility of having to do some settings in the server, what other options do i have.
I thought of using the hamachi IP to access the PC. but it didnt work out. i asked the guy to access my PC thru my hamachi IP (hamachi was logged in) by using VNC. after that i made him install hamachi so that we both have a similar IP series. i tried this bcoz when you take your mouse over VNC, it also shows you ur hamachi IP. so there still might be a possibility through hamachi.
