The CHDK fw is a hacked firmware for DIGIC II cameras. Currently supported cams are A610, A620, A630, A640, A710 IS, S2 IS and S3 IS (see the FAQ for a complete list).
The CHDK fw implements new features like RAW, battery indicator, live histogram (RGB/luminance), zebra mode (blinking areas of over-/underexposure), DOF calculator, scripts (intervalometer, exposure/focus/... bracketing etc.), text reader, file browser, calendar, games and much more.

OMG i really did't knew this, did you tried this? how it looks?
features are really beyond camera's vision i mean i never expect doing all these task in my camera and once i tried putting pics from my computer into the cam to see whenever i want but cam refuse to run it saying its not taken from canon cam.. =( now i'll give it a try rite these days papers goin on =|
but i have to arrange card reader for that..

card reader is cheap yaars...300, 400 ka mil jaey gaa...the features added in this firmware are damn good...especially RAW Support...i dont own a canon so obviously havent used it...and ur camera didnt accept other pics because of the EXIF Info...wesay I m getting a good deal for a new a710 IS for 9.5K from a local shop, im tempted! how much did you buy urs for? r u current with the recent price of ur cam?

9.5k =| is it new? i got mine for 20 something (lil more) and what is RAW sorry for being noob but i really dont know about it
for pictures last time i took see the photography section please can provide indoor and other on demand =)

Yeah apparently a new one...even im confused, these guys rip off easily u know. He also quoted an a570IS for 10.5k whereas galaxy is giving it away for around 16k.

As for RAW it is a file format specific to every camera model or company. It has no White balance, no sharpness or in short no post processing applied as it is in a JPEG. It has greater bit depth so you can recover more detail out of your pictures than seen (bigger in size too). Although you need to work a lil bit more on RAW pictures, the results prodcued are more contoled. Usually Pro photographers prefer to shoot in RAW mode, they dont trust in camera processing.

thanks lad but u should check everything deeply and confirm if its not opened maybe its stolen or something thats why giving it cheap, because there is only one place for camera so stolen camera's can be traced easily he maybe willing to sell it asap so go for it better for you.. and do check twice before buying because u know camera faults are often tiny picture is fine in cam screen maybe it got marks in pc.. u never knew =/
