vb is not even object oriented, if you talk about vb.net then you might be able to find alot of people on it, btw any one here with java expertese? why not start a programming compertion here on pkforum or some software competion, where members can create the specified software?

Object Oriented programming is old and overhyped. Better to move on to newer techniques like those which would be taught at LUMS this year with LISP, etc.

LISP? are you sure, I think it's preety old technology

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lisp_programming_language
and I beleive OOP is the finest way of programming, nothing is able to beat it till now.

LISP is old, but I am not talking tools here. I am talking about the programming technique.

OOP is still used because it is overhyped and the only technique taught in Pakistani educational institutions.

I read an article about it some weeks back and it was even talked about at Pakistan Developer Conference in Islamabad.
