Twice the Delight for RPG Fans: Hellgate London and the Witcher
Rating:
()
Two highly anticipated RPG games have hit the shelves (one has hit the web as well).
The Witcher: The game features you as a Witcher, a warrior who has been trained to fight since childhood and has been subjected to mutations and trials that have transformed him. You earn your living by killing monsters, and you are a member of a brotherhood founded long ago to protect people from werewolves, the undead, and a host of other beasts. In The Witcher, you'll embark on an adventure full of sword combat and plot twists. Your actions and choices determine how the game will end. http://pc.ign.com/articles/831/831264p1.html rating: 85%, has some bugs need to be ironed out with patches Hellgate London: Set twenty-five years in the future, Hellgate: London introduces a world devastated by a demon invasion and a desolate city scorched by hellfire where mankind has gone underground to survive. Among them are the Templar, an archaic and secret society that foresaw this demonic apocalypse centuries ago. Followers of arcane rites, the Templar combine futuristic technology with ancient artifacts to forge powerful weapons and armor. The mystic sanctuary of the Underground system provides players safe conduct throughout the sprawling metropolis of London as they seek to preserve the bloodline of man and gain a foothold against the minions of darkness. Hellgate: London combines the depth of role-playing games and action of first-person titles, while offering infinite playability with randomly created levels, items, and events. The player creates a heroic character, completes quests, and battles through innumerable hordes of demons to advance through experience levels and branching skill paths. A robust, flexible skill and spell system, highly customizable appearances, and a massive variety of randomly generated equipment allow players to create their own unique hero. A demo was released which however didnt do too well even with die-hard rpg fans. However the final game has been given a 89% by Pc gamer magazine So all RPG fans (myself included) something to play after Jade Empire, and Overlord (kinda thin, but an RPG none-the-less) *Not counting nwn 2 motb, ran like cr*p on my system I'll be picking them up as soon as i can get my hands on em! (which isnt that far off ) |

^happens what all nwn2 games, crank up the details and it slows to a crawl. i gave up on it! i can turn down the details and play, but then i get this 'thing in my head' that laughs at me! (u know kinda like dr. jekyl and mr. hyde thing)
it's a pity if he final game is as bad as the demo, had very high hopes for that game. |

Loki, another hack-and-slash (released last month i think), was crappy as hell.. repetitive and boring and buggy.
