Try to manually reset the bios.. and your hard disk data is safe.

what verification??? didn't u first check the bios file using asus update utility??? dost apnay system ki nazar utarlo tum it is in continuous problems from the day u bought ur gpu......

yes as ommee said do a manual reset using bios jumper but i m afraid it might not solve the issue and u hve to give it in replacement....

Micrographics will become famous soon enoughMicrographics will become famous soon enough
the trick is never to reboot it urself during bios updates
the pc boots itself and sometimes it takes so long that one is duped into thinking that its turned off and the reset button is pushed and well...u basically end up **** creek without a paddle
tuff luck bro...but u need to take the mobo back to the vendor and claim warranty...if it isnt under warranty then thats a problem
and dont worry HDD's data will be safe

@Omme....can u explain how that is done??

@fajoo...lol@nazar.....oh yes i chked it using ASUS update utility....it was fine....abt verification...there r three stages in bios flashing....wiping the old one...installing the new one and its verification..the third step failed....

@kashif....i thnk cuz i was using Vista 64 bit...did a search on google and ppl had these problems while falshing in Vista 64 bit...and i got the BIOS file from asus site and uused the ASUS update utility...

@micrographics...i didnt reboot myself...i only did that after the ASUS utility crashed...and udnt even restorer the old one...

so guys...i will try to manually reset the BIOS....plz tell me how...but if that doesnt work then i have to get a new mobo as this one isnt in warranty....so wich do u reccomend as a gud replacement....(and i need a eSATA port too)...thnks

Consult the manual of your board.. You will have to place the Jumper from 1-2 to 2-3. Chk in the manual im sure you'll find it easy.

NEVER FLASH *ANY* BIOS FROM WITH-IN WINDOWS ALWAYS EITHER USE THE BIOS FLASH TOOL OR FROM DOS UNLESS U HAVE A INTEL BUILT BOARD

the windows tool is flaky as hell, unless u have an intel board which programs from within windows but flashes only at boot time

if the mobo cd thing didnt work, do this:
1. take power cable out
2. take out cell, or clear real time clock
3. press power button 5 times
4. prepare a rescue floppy and use that
