I was wondering, if i go out to galaxy today for Q6600, is there a chance that i might get an old B3 Stepping instead of the newer G0 ??

why would u want an older stepping???
anyways if u do want one, ask them to look for the older S-Spec mode (it think it was slum or slu9m). u can use intel's processor finder to check this out!

thats wat i was wondering, these days the trend is thermal cieling increases and overclockability also increases due to the maturity of fab process and intel's own experience with a certain processor....thus thereby a later stepping is really a good thing in terms of overclocking....
