Guys i have given up............. completely... i am now dreaming with Motherboards floating around. So i came back to you guys

I have a budget of 65k and this is what i need

1. Motherboard (Looking for atleast DDR2 1066 and Cross Fire)
2. Processor (Quad Core or Dual Core both are welcome)
3. RAM (DDR2 800 or 1066)
4. GFX (4850 or 4870, single at the moment)
5. Casing
6. PSU

Rest of the stuff will be hand me downs. Here are my suggestion but please do scrap it out if required

1. Motherboard (ASUS P5K-V)
2. Processor (Q6600)
3. RAM (Corsair DHX 4 GB DDR2 800)
4. GFX (ATI HD 4850)
5. Casing (CM 690)
6. PSU (CM 650W Real Power SLI Ready)

Total Value as of today = 64k

I will be overclocking my Processor and will be looking to add another 4850 in few months.

Any comments... ???

i would drop some $$$ off DHX, get xms2 and add that to $$$ for gpu to get a 4870

infact unless u specifically want to use x64 vista, u could do with 2 gigs of ram and a 4870

Price difference between XMS2 and DHX of equal clock rate and timings is around Rs 200/GB [2x2048XMS2= Rs 3300 and same DHX is for Rs 3700] not much i guess which means no big savings. 2GB seems quite sufficient atm. All other components seems quite reasonablr to me. That P5K-V is one hell of a ocer. Just try to get some chip sinks for the mosfet area to keep it bit cool. I am too using this board with Q6600. You can check more info on it at my blog.

As mentioned in my blog, Super Pi scores are rather geared towards high clock single-core CPUs so it won't be close to 10secs until and unless i am running it around 4.0GHz. (regardless of core 2 duo or quad). wPrime uses all cores.

I'll try to upload some shots under different processors for reference.

the rigs u mentions are perfect as this will be high end PC...i need only CASING to reach this...though 5600rs is quite HEAVY for a casing but .16.5 k card and 15.5 processor deserve it,,,,

Well thats really a coincidence that you already have a similar rig. For the heatsink i was thinking of Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme but then i saw that you were using the same thing in your rig as well .. coincidence .. coincidence .. i was initally thinking of CNPS9700 LED whose younger bro CNPS9500 LED was a life saver for my earlier system but then i heard about Thermalright and i changed my mind. Thanks again. Nice blog btw and its interesting that you work for SingTech.

One more thing with Thermalright do you keep your rig on 3.4 GHZ at all times ???
