u can do it without splicing the psu's end off
simply splice the fan's end off, extend +12V to +12v on the molex and tape it.
ditto for the GND!

Long long story cutting it short been at the fan project since last nyt results alas!

inventory: 1 12volts adapter
2 amd 64 fans
1 sleeve bearing fan off a local lucy psu!

1 amd 64 fan came out faulty....

leaves me with 2 fans one connector on the mobo....

installed the amd fan right under the gfx card at a distance of around 2 inches horizontally positioned parallel to the gfx so all the air is hitting the front of the pcb of the gfx card...problems faced none except how to place it first used sewing thread broke off then used threads on one end and a old local psu fan as a base....which was very unreliable and had to replace with stronger thread

part 2 installing the psu fan above the gfx card infront of the nb heatsink and the processor hsf....at a distance of around 3-4 inches enough to only suck out the ambient air around the area of the processor and the northbridge, the processor fan can suck in fresh air from the back where a large piece of casing has been shaved out just dint want the processor hsf eating the ambient stale air wanted constant circulation....the fan is powered by a 12 volt adapter....havent noticed much temp differences around the system and core temps maybe cuz my emphasis is not on that but the 6600gt

the temps on the 6600gt have gone down to 59c degrees from a 63c degrees at idle...will update this thread with pictures of the jugaar iv pulled! and also further temps and overclocks...for now just letting the pc get cooled kesc arrived so for now lettin it breath some ac air hoping to go down to 56c degrees like last night on my test runs!

yes 54c degrees

frequenting to 53c degrees but comes up back again to 54....
