Hello all,

I have two questions as follows:

1. I have Kingston Value Ram 1 gb ddr2 667 mhz stick……my mobo has two slots for rams with a max support of 4 gb (max 800 bus) and supports dual channeling……

now If I want to run in a dual channel mode then tell me wht I need, I know I need another 1 gb kvr 667 mhz, is there any other thing I need to look at??? If I buy from some shop 1 gb kvr 667, will it work in dual channel with my current ram???

2. Secondly question is about hd movies, I hve downloaded some hd movies 720p ones and no doubt quality is just awesome…..but how can we say tht they r HD, I mean they look pretty similar to wht u get on normal dvds original prints….

the only diff I hve seen is tht they run with black stripes on top and bottom of screen as I hve a crt monitor 17” while normal dvds work in full screen…….also I hve not noticed any gpu/cpu temp and load increase whn these hd movies r played, does it mean the gpu is handling these movies very efficiently????

nd finally can anybody tell how much the Original HD Movies cost if u buy from market??

Thanks.

you have 17" thats why you can;t feel the difference b/w HD and nomal dvd..........
try it on 19"+ screen and then you will tell us the difference .....

nomally we have 512 pixel width but 720p means 720 pixels

@Fajoo.. Yes Brother.. All you have to do is buy another same model kingston 667 and they will both work in Dual channel mode.

HD and DVD difference is obvious yaar.. Pata chal hi jaata hai.. waise the file format is different. ( .MKV )

Faraz Bhai please note that if you have a single sided memory module previously then you should buy another single sided module of same bus speeds and timings. AFAIK single sided memory module won't work in dual channel mode with a double sided memory module.

Exactly.. You have to use a REPLICA of the module you are currently using!

Please note that all HD resolutions (720, 1080) are WideScreen resolutions. Therefore you need a WS display to watch HD in its full glory.

ram: Match Speed and TIMINGs as has been pointed out. if u have CL5, get CL5.

video: video bit rate on HD-movies is much much higher. check video info from whatever program u have then get the video bitrate info.

sell the stick and get a matched pair. double sided ram will probably (99.99%) not work with a single sided module as they can't pair up together cell for cell
