crysis automatically detects cpu type.
the only game where u have to set this manually that i know of is The lost Planet. it is also the only game where going from a duo to a quad produces really really significant gains. (true near doubling of performnace or near that!) if u were using xp before, than crysis is probably defaulting to dx10 path on vista, which could potentially lead to poorer results. apart from that what gpu do u have? also make sure u got ur ram paired up to run in dual channel mode (check manual, usually like colored mem slots) |

If u are playing Crysis....
then dont forget to install the latest patches.. it will run really well like that.. and yes performance of crysis with the dx10 hack is far better than vista. do give it a try.. and what gpu do u have? and is the Q6600 the G0 revision that u have?

coz its the 1st dx10 game..
and the pixel and shaders used in that game are very dense and populated. so to attain a decent frame rate and to render such high end graphics.... u need a very powerful card... nothing below a 8800GT to play Crysis.!!!!
