Aoa,

I want some advise from you guys…..there are some guys here who are multimedia professionals or students…..Its my dream to become a multimedia specialist like visual effects, 2d/3d animater, 3d modeler, Maya Certification etc (I may take it as a profession also if I get a good opportunity later)…..

So, can you guys suggest me which is the best place in Karachi to learn this stuff….from where I can do 6 months-1year relevant program…..

Also tell me which is the best institute to learn graphic designing courses and web development....

If anyone is doing something similar then please tell me the cost also…waiting for ur replies guys….

You want to do too much in too lil time. First study design theory/advertising/direction for a year. Then choose a specialization.

Learning only tools like Maya/3dsmax/photoshop will make you a tool operator and not a Animator/VFX artist or a designer.

Go to arena or see if you can get for a course enrolement in KIET. You seem smart enough and know pretty much about computers. You can just go anywhere and learn your way around the softwares. Coz thats what they will teach you mostly everywhere. In the meantime you can read some books, to give you the background knowledge. I really like the bible series(photoshop bible, 3dsmax bible etc)

For instance, if someone is teaching you 3dsmax he will just teach you how to model, texture and light. What he wont teach you and most probably doesnt know himself is particle physics and behaviour of light. The books will give you that edge.

Let me iterate, all this wont make you a good designer/animator. You also have to study in great detail the design principles, grid structure, staging, typography, advertising etc. So that you know what you are doing, and where you are going and not just doing something which you think looks good, but sucks really. I Suggest you look at course outline for some BFA or BCA degree to get an idea of what you are missing and what im talking about.

And ofcourse you need to work very hard and have lots of patience to become really good.

In a broad sense you can say that im a graphic designer though my specialization has mainly involved in an area known as User Interface & Experience Design.

Formally, I have a 2yr certificate in Digital Arts from a program of operation badar(which closed after the first batch:-D), the faculty was the same as that of KSA at the time.
