I read this poster in a shop that microsoft has launched vista in urdu language and we can buy it for 2000 something Rs, original windows from the authorized dealers? what is this all about and is it even true? i havent been able to confirm this by searching on the net any leads?

Haven't heared..
but it may be some kind of offer from MS.. as it did in Malaysia, Brazil, Korea etc 2 years back to stop piracy and increase the use of genuine windows by selling a special copy of XP for only 100$.

yeah will have to find more about it wether the pakis are tweaking vista and selling as microsoft's urdu vista original version or is it really MS

Yeah... but anything can be expected from MS.. they know no one will buy for 6000 here even not the govt.. so they might be giving more sophisticated incentives for it.. after all we are several times more populous country then Brazil or Malaysia.

yes I believe thats the case, cz starter edition is very toned down version of Vista and is cheap too.
