SLI to Work with Nehalem Boards WITHOUT The need for nvidia Chip (nforce200)
Rating:
()
Looks like nvidia finally gave in. unable to acquire a QPI (Quick Path Interconnect) bus license, nvidia will have a certification program to validate x58 boards (for nehalem lga1366) for SLI.
SLI x2 will run without any additional nvidia logic! SLI x3/x4 will however need nforce 200 chip to be incoroprated on the board nvidia will make it's own SLI boards (using its own chipsets) for nehalem lga1160 socket cpu's due next year with only a dual channel ram controller. Finally users will have acess to SLI on intel platform using intel chipsets without any nvidia glue logic! SLI on x58 |
