This is true for the units sold during the last 19 months... (when was this launched???!???)

The exact nature of the problem hasnt been disclosed, nor will there be a re-call. The extended warranty will probably make all xbx's come back anyways (those with the inherent bug!)

this does not bode well for people who live in pakistan or regions where there is no xbx360 support from m$$$. these users are at teh mercy of their machine ....

the repiars would cost m$ about 1.15Us$ (billions)

The extended warranty however only applies to the ring of death failures, not those resulting from dying optical drives, power units etc.

the good news is that if u buy a console that is dated july 07 and beyond u should get a 'good' set!
just to be sure wait a month for the august 07 dated batch, if u're interested in buying one!
