Xbox 360 Arcade launched: Wireless Controllers + Games +HDMI For Below 300

Microsoft has launched the successor to it's core version of the xbox360 games console.

notable changes include:

1. Wireless controller instead of the Wired Controller in the Core
2. HDMI Port, as present in the Xbox360 Elite
3. Games Bundle
Pac-Man Championship Edition
Uno,
Luxor 2,
Boom Boom Rocket, and
Feeding Frenzy.

It still lacks the HDD as found in both the Elite and prem. versions

Microsoft's take:
"Microsoft says it's aiming the Xbox 360 Arcade at families in particular. As a part of this effort, the company is "significantly expanding" its library of on-demand family content including new cartoons from Nickelodeon and Warner Bros. Microsoft also plays up the new console's Family Settings functionality, which allows parents to control what their kids can play and watch. These moves suggest the Xbox 360 Arcade is largely an effort to nab sales away from Nintendo's Wii in the coming holiday season."

The price is 280, which is about 120 cheaper than the cheapest ps3, and 40 more than the Wii.

Supposedly it uses the 65nm CPU, while the gpu is still on the old process

This is a good move, just when sony reduces it's price, m$ launches a new version, with better equipment (wireless controller and HDMI port) and at a lower price.

i was asking around for elite's, no word on that.
this should be here soon. it's cheaper and probably less likely to fail as comapred to other x360s (apart from one

No elites or Arcade units here yet

the p n p guy told me that of the 10 units of x360's sold over the eid weekend, 5 were returned with RRoDs!

that is a 50% RoR!!!!

i asked him to check the dates of manufacture.
To me i think it's a much better idea to either mod the console or wait till 2008, esp if the dates on the consoles are later than aug07!

One more thing is that Xbox360 without Hard Drive gives less Frames in games

not less frames, it has greater load times. but the gameplay exp. is the same!
